The Pergamon Museum houses an extensive collection of classic Greek and Roman art and antiquities, artwork and artefacts from the Near East (Babylon, Asur, Uruk and Habuba Kabira), and Islamic artwork and architectural artefacts.

Some of the pieces are large and impressive architectural forms and structures including the Babylonian Processional Way, gateways, alters and building facades.

Visitors should note that there are major renovations ongoing at present due to last several years. This has meant that several sections of the museum have been closed to the public - but there is still lots to see.

It is quite common for long queues to form for visitors seeking to purchase tickets for the Pergamon Museum. We strongly recommend that you purchase your tickets online in advance. This will enable you to go directly to the museum entrace and avoid the ticket office queues.

If you are carrying bags, rucksacks etc. you will have to store these in a locker during your visit.

The Pergamon Museum is located on Museum Island, access via Bodestrasse. Access via:

  • S-Bahn: S1, S2, S25 (Friedrichstrasse); S5, S7, S75 (Hackescher Markt)
  • Tram: M1, 12 (Am Kupfergraben); M4, M5, M6 (Hackescher Markt)
